It is ironic isn’t it, SVG being boosted now through IE implementation?
We blogged about this interview because we think artists and designers should get involved in the definition of Open Standards so we need to understand how it works. Publishing this dialogue with Microsoft is also one of the ways the SVG-workinggroup is opening up a process that often is opaque, hard to follow and uninviting and we want to support their effort.
The gritty reality of Open Standard politics is of course not limited to free software; SVG had a hard time regaining momentum when Adobe bought Flash and it ended up being supported by Firefox mainly. Also a platform dependent Open Standard seems a bit contradictory
