A new release of the NotCourier-sans is now available here, with its bold.
The OSP frog, the IJ, ij, numero and trademark ligatures are now encoded in the discretionary ligatures.
I’m excited about NonCourier-sans for two reasons. I’m just starting to appreciate typefaces even more while reading “Just My Font”, and since I write some technical manuals that need to show some terminal interactions. Monospaced fonts are critical for readability in code snippets where every character counts. Your font does the trick while feeling both modern and somehow trustworthy for lack of a better word.
Unfortunately I’ve come across a problem. The ligatures are throwing off the alignment of characters. This is a deal-breaker when simulating terminal screens in a manual. Your description says the ligatures are discretionary. I’m a font newbie, so please bear with this silly question: Is there a way to turn them off on my Mac so it behaves like the mono-spaced Courier I’m trying to replace? Or are they built deep into the font definition and the O/S text handling?. I’m using Apple’s Pages app, if that matters.
